meridian is a trading name of Website Servers Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17240780, with its registered office at Orchard Cottage, Beck Orchard, Brampton, United Kingdom, CA8 1UR.

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the meridian weather service available at meridianweather.co.uk (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

meridian provides multi-city weather monitoring, forecasts, optional email digests and weather alerts, documentation, and related features. Forecast and observation data are supplied by third-party weather providers (primarily OpenWeather) and may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable.

The Service is informational only. Do not rely on meridian for safety-critical decisions, emergency planning, aviation, marine navigation, or any situation where weather data failure could cause harm. Always follow official meteorological and emergency services guidance in your area.

Public users do not need a meridian account. Saved cities, display preferences, accessibility settings, and similar choices are stored in your browser (localStorage and related client storage). They do not sync across browsers or devices unless you set them up again yourself.

Staff and operators may use separate administrative accounts to operate the platform. Those accounts are governed by internal access controls and are not consumer user accounts.

The Service is offered on a free tier that may display advertising (including Google AdSense) when advertising is configured and you have consented where required. Premium features described in the product (for example ad-free browsing or additional forecast detail) may appear in the interface but paid billing (including Stripe) is not live. Until billing is enabled, any “Premium” or upgrade controls may be unavailable or disabled.

We may change feature availability, rate limits, caching, or advertising placements to protect upstream quotas and service stability.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, weekly digests, or weather alerts, you must provide a valid email address and opt in to each subscription type you want. Each email includes an unsubscribe method. We may pause or stop sending if delivery fails repeatedly or if use appears abusive.

Subscription data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

You must not: abuse or overload our APIs; scrape, copy, or redistribute keys or bulk forecast data; automate excessive upstream weather requests; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer security controls, or gain unauthorised access to admin systems; use the Service for unlawful purposes; or misrepresent affiliation with Website Servers Ltd or meridian.

We may suspend or restrict access that harms the Service, other users, or our providers.

Availability depends on third parties including weather data providers, email delivery providers, advertising and analytics networks (when enabled and consented), image providers for regional heroes, hosting infrastructure, and geolocation helpers. We may serve cached data, throttle refreshes, or degrade features when quotas or outages require it.

Third-party terms and privacy notices apply to their services; we are not responsible for their content or availability.

The meridian name, branding, site design, documentation, and original software are owned by Website Servers Ltd or its licensors. Weather icons, forecast data, maps, and other third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights.

You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial weather monitoring. You may not copy substantial parts of the Service, scrape for resale, or remove proprietary notices without prior written permission.

The Service is aimed at adults and responsible older teenagers. If you are under 13 (or under the digital consent age in your country, which is 13 in the UK for most online services and may be higher elsewhere), you should not use features that collect personal data such as email subscriptions without appropriate parental or guardian involvement. We do not knowingly market to children.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, uptime, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law. Subject to that, Website Servers Ltd and its officers are not liable for decisions made solely on forecast data, indirect or consequential loss, or loss of data occurring because you cleared browser storage or withdrew consent.

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you keep any mandatory statutory rights that cannot be waived.

We may update these terms when the Service or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the revised terms for future use. Material changes to how we process personal data are also reflected in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that UK or EU consumers may bring claims in their home courts where mandatory local law requires.
